The PTO Wants YOU!

There are many ways you can support Myford by volunteering. When adults volunteer, all students benefit!

Every volunteer has unique talents that can benefit the PTO and consequently Myford. Volunteer efforts make a meaningful difference in our community and the lives of our children. Attend the monthly PTO meetings to find out areas where there is a need for volunteers.

Please sign up here today! If you have any questions, please email us at myfordelementarypto@gmail.com. Please note, you are indicating INTEREST, not a commitment.

WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?

All of our children's caregivers (parents, grandparents, teachers, staff) are welcome - no PTO experience necessary! Anyone can be an invaluable PTO volunteer.

Myford loves our volunteers! As a matter of safety and understanding school procedures, we ask that any interested volunteers to follow our 3-step onboarding process:

  1. Review the Myford Elementary training slides HERE.
  2. Take the Volunteer Quiz HERE.
  3. Once completed, come and pick up a Volunteer lanyard in the front office anytime after 8/31.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

  • PTO Board Members*

These members coordinating the work of all PTO members to ensure duties are being carried out.

  • PTO Event Chair*

These volunteers organize specific events, such as Red Ribbon Week, Family Nights and Myford Mornings.

We are on the lookout for volunteers that can help us with special events including: Family Game Night, Cultural Fair and 5th grade girls and boys night.

  • Attend a PTO meeting

You do not have to be a PTO Board Member to attend. PTO meetings are open to all the Myford Elementary School community and all parents are encouraged to attend the monthly PTO meetings at the Myford multi-purpose room or via zoom to find out what's going on at the school and get involved!.

  • PTO Room Parents

Room parents are selected at the beginning of the school year. A room parent facilitates communication between parents, their classroom teacher, and the PTO. They support the teacher in the classroom through planning classroom events throughout the school year.  If you're interested, please reach out to your teacher at the beginning of the year..

  • Classroom Volunteers

If Room Parent sounds like too big of a commitment, many teachers request volunteers throughout the year for classroom events such as Art Masters, PE assistance, or field trips. Your classroom teacher will let you know how you can get involved!

  • Event Volunteers

The PTO organizes different activities and events throughout the school year that will need the skills of many volunteers. The VP of Volunteers will be recruiting volunteers for these events. If you are interested in helping out, please sign up here.

*These positions are usually filled at the end of the school year for the following year.
